The Kids Drumming Challenge at Key Largo School, is a special program targeting students of assorted learning disabilities that create numerous achievement, communication and social bonding issues.  These students work weekly with local professional drummer George Parker to learn World Rhythms of a performance caliber.  Last year students performed 7 times in the community, which empowered them to have more confidence and social bonding as a group. Self-regulation is a calming benefit of the meditative effect daily practice provides. Students then mentor younger classes, pre-K-2nd grade and collaborate with former middle school participants, 6th thru 8th grades.  Our reach is now to over 35 special needs kids, not to mention the remaining school population that partakes as an occasional audience. This is our third year of the program that is motivating and engaging these students to afford them success and the ability to contribute to the world in a positive way
